STUFF TO DO
Today: Come join the Pickleball fun Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the Lions Auditorium. Participants require non-slip shoes and a paddle; balls are provided. Courts and nets will be set up for each session. This event starts at 9:30 a.m.
Today: A Public Skate is taking Tillsonburg Community Centre on Tuesday from 10 to 11:20 a.m.
Today: Drop-in ball hockey takes place at the Tillsonburg Community Centre. CSA-approved helmets, with full cage, required as well as gloves, a stick, and running shoes. Get into the games at 8 p.m.
Canada Day Festivities!
A free swim is happening at Lake Lisgar Waterpark from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., sponsored by Schep's Bakeries Ltd. Pre-registration is not required; however, capacity is limited, and entry is first-come, first-served.
Start your day at the Station Arts Centre for their annual pancake breakfast! You can enjoy a delicious breakfast for under $10, complete with coffee, tea, or juice. This is a fundraiser with proceeds supporting the non-profit Station Arts Centre. It runs Wednesday from 8 to 11 a.m.
New Canada Day traditions are beginning at the Backhouse Historic Site in Port Rowan as families are invited to enjoy a picnic, pioneer games and hands-on activities on July 1. The Long Point Region Conservation Authority is hosting its first Canada Day celebration at the historic village from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors can enjoy lawn games, crafts, photo opportunities, a pie-eating contest and demonstrations from local artisans. In the Town of Tillsonburg, celebrate Canada Day at Annandale NHS with the annual Fun Fair on the Lawn from 10-2! Enjoy free food, fun activities for the whole family, and food trucks including Suppa Swirls, Soda Street, and Speedy Fries. Then stop by Memorial Park for the community fireworks show at dusk.
The City of Woodstock says Southside Park will be filled with fun for all ages on Wednesday, July 1 from 2 to 10 p.m. This year’s event will be the most memorable celebration to date to mark the City of Woodstock's 125th anniversary. They will have live music, including a performance from Canadian rock icon Kim Mitchell, Canadian Kids Zone activities and local vendors. The evening will end with a spectacular fireworks show! Port Burwell is getting ready to roll out the red and white for its annual Canada Day celebration, hosted by the Port Burwell Historical Society. The festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. with a Canada Day parade starting at the Royal Canadian Legion and making its way through town to the Marine Museum. The day will also feature free kids’activities, live entertainment, complimentary refreshments, and the beloved Harvard aircraft formation flyover. More details here!
