Here's what's going on over the next 48 hours in the region.
STUFF TO DO
Today: More summer activities for little ones at Harrington Library. From 10am-11am, children can create their very own shark to take home. Stay out of the water, and come create this cool shark! (The program is suitable for children ages 5 and up)
Today: Get your creativity on at the Thamesford Library from 1:00pm-2:00pm with their Ocean of Creativity craft program. This week, they'll be exploring the wonders of the seashore by creating a tide pool diorama! Make sure to dress to get a little messy at this crafty program. Children 10 and under must be accompanied at the library and they ask that caregivers stay at the library during programs.
Today: Join GoodPud founders Polly and Sarah in the kitchen for the first Local Table of the year, celebrating Ontario strawberries and our native and highly underrated superfruit, the Haskap berry (AKA Honeyberry). It's happening at 39 North Street East in Tillsonburg, and features a series of dessert demonstrations designed to celebrate what's in season right now from our local producers and growers in Oxford County. Each session includes a two-hour small class cooking demonstration, a dessert to enjoy in class and one to take home, and much more.
Tomorrow: The Summer Reading Club has a family movie in the Princeton Library Branch movie theatre at 10:30 am. They'll have summer reading club craft bags and a scavenger hunt as well. The movie is Finding Dory, rated G, and recommended for all ages.
Tomorrow: Tillsonburg Library has Family Discovery Day again this Saturday! Parents with children ages 5-10 yrs are welcome to drop into the Tillsonburg Branch's program room between 1pm and 3pm to have fun learning the basics of family history! Children can learn the basics of searching family history online, and locate their ancestors' origins on the library's large wall map! Toward the end of the afternoon, small children and parents are invited to stay for a special family history-themed story time. (Parents/guardians must attend with their children.)
Tomorrow: The Canadian Harvard Association is holding Open House & Fly Day from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Tillsonburg Regional Airport. Attendance is FREE, and offers a chance to see their collection of Harvard aircraft up close, tour our hangars, explore restoration projects, purchase souvenirs, and best of all, to purchase a flight!
