STUFF TO DO
Today: Norwich Library hosts something you might find helpful if you have mobility issues. It's a VON Exercise Class from 12:15-1:15pm. It's a Hybrid Standing/Seated Class, for ages 55-plus, and for adults with disabilities. The class is led by a trained instructor, and you're asked to bring water, and dress accordingly.
Today: Thamesford Library is holding Knits ’N’ Knots from 10:00 to 11:30am. Join them for a relaxing time of knitting, crocheting (or other crafty hobby), and casual conversation. This is a social drop-in program, and you're asked to please bring your own supplies.
Today: Aqua Fit is happening at the Tillsonburg Community Centre - a water aerobics class to improve cardiovascular fitness, build strength and improve flexibility. It is a low impact workout for those looking to ease joint pain while moving and burning calories. The 45min. class is followed by a 15min leisure swim, and the class is done in the shallow end of the pool. Parents and caregivers are welcome to bring their little one (aged 6mos to 3yrs), and flotation seats are provided so parents can participate and have their little one within arms' reach. Child participation is FREE.
Tomorrow: If you need a quieter way to start your Saturday, the Tillsonburg Community Centre has an Adult Lane and Leisure Swim this weekend. Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10, the indoor pool is open for anyone 13 and up who'd like to swim some laps, get some exercise or simply spend a little time floating in the water. Aqua bikes are also available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tomorrow: The Embro Library is sending an "Ahoy, mateys!" to everyone, and sending the Summer Reading Club off with a Pirate Palooza this Saturday from 2 to 3:30pm. Families can build a ship to see if it actually floats, fill a tin with treasure, dress up like pirates and enjoy some pirate-themed snacks together. And you don't have to have taken part in the Summer Reading Club to join the crew — everybody's welcome!
Tomorrow: The Summer Reading Club may be over, but the celebration is just getting started at the Tillsonburg Library.Saturday afternoon, kids ages 5 to 12 are invited to a Summer Reading Club Wrap Up Party, featuring a magical performance by the Amazing Captain Corbin and his “Dive In” show. Afterward, there’s a chance to make a memory bookmark in the Children’s Area - a little keepsake from a summer spent reading. The party runs from 1:30 to 2:30 Saturday, and registration is required.
