Here's what's going on over the next 48 hours in the region
STUFF TO DO
Today: Board Games for Bored People is a weekly drop-in where you can sit down, play some cards, board games or even a puzzle - and, perhaps more importantly, meet some people. It’s a pretty low-pressure way to get out of the house, especially if you enjoy games but don't necessarily have somebody at home to play with. It runs from 12:30 to 2:30 at the Tillsonburg Library, for adults 18 and over.
Today: If you need a job, or want to work - whether you're unemployed, just getting into the workforce, or are looking to transition into another role or industry, Community Employment Services is at Plattsville Library between 9am and Noon. They have a knowledgeable team with the resources to assist you in taking the first steps. Book an appointment by contacting Sam Ritchie at sritchie@cesoxford.ca.
Today: The Tavistock Library's After School Hangout gets creative Tuesday with a fall-inspired afternoon of leaf printing. Kids ages 6 to 13 can listen to an autumn story, learn some simple printmaking techniques, and create their own leaf-print artwork. No registration is required. The program runs from 4 to 5 p.m., and participants need to arrive by 4:10pm.
Tomorrow: Shake, Rattle & Read is happening the Tillsonburg Library from 9:30–10:30 a.m. Songs, stories, movement and a craft help build early literacy skills. Best suited to parents or caregivers with children ages 2–6.
Tomorrow: There's Yoga from 10:15am to 11:15 am at the Tillsonburg Community Centre. A class combining yoga poses, stretching, movement, breathing and relaxation techniques to help reduce muscle tension and stress. For ages 13+.
Tomorrow: The Ingersoll Library’s Film Club meets at 5:00 p.m. Movie lovers can borrow one of four themed films during the month, then gather to watch and discuss them with fellow film fans. For more information, email lheinbuck@ocl.net.
