The award was presented at the recent ROMA conference in Toronto.
Community Futures Oxford is being recognized with a provincial award for its work supporting women entrepreneurs. General manager Allan Simm says the organization aims to be a leading hub of entrepreneurial support services in Oxford County
The non-profit organization recently received the Rural Inspiration Award from the Rural Ontario Municipal Association for its Thrive Oxford program.
Thrive Oxford was launched in 2020. The program focuses on helping women build sustainable businesses through workshops, peer mentoring, networking, and access to professional advice.
Simm said the award was presented by Lisa Thompson, Ontario’s Minister of Rural Affairs, on January 19 at the ROMA conference in Toronto.
Community Futures Oxford hopes to carry this momentum forward with its upcoming Thrive Oxford workshop on February 25.
Simm added the event will be held at Ingersoll's Elm Hurst Inn, and anyone interested in Thrive Oxford is encouraged to reach out through the organization’s website at cfoxford.ca.
Community Futures Oxford says the award confirms the need for programs like Thrive Oxford and strengthens its commitment to building a more inclusive and resilient local economy.
