With the back-to-school season approaching, Tillsonburg Fire & Rescue Services is encouraging parents and caregivers to make sure their children's car seats and booster seats are installed correctly.
The department is offering free car seat and booster seat inspections at the Tillsonburg Fire Hall from August 1 to 21, every Wednesday and Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., emergency calls permitting.
A Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician will be available to help families properly install new car seats, transition children to booster seats or simply ensure existing seats are being used safely. Residents can call or text 519-614-0103 to arrange a check or stop by the fire hall during the scheduled times.
Visitors are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Helping Hand Food Bank. Fire officials say the initiative is an opportunity to keep children safe while also supporting local families in need.
Availability is subject to emergency calls.
