What began in 1975 as a single long-term care home in Woodstock has grown into a network of 25 serving over 1,500 residents province-wide
This September, Caressant Care Nursing and Retirement Homes marked a major milestone: 50 years of supporting families, enriching lives, and providing compassionate care to residents across Ontario.
Dylan Subject, Regional Manager for Southwest Caressant Care, explains that what began in 1975 as a single long-term care home in Woodstock has now grown into a network of homes across the province, serving over 1,500 residents.
Staff dedication remains at the heart of the organization’s success, stressed Subject, emphasizing that the team’s perseverance has been particularly remarkable over the past few years.
50th Anniversary celebrations across the province varied by home. In Woodstock, the former property owner shared memories of selling the home to the organization’s founder, while Tavistock hosted a community gathering with a piping band and speeches from local officials.
As Caressant Care marks this golden anniversary, Subject adds, it’s a moment of pride for everyone involved.
And while the organization celebrates this 50-year legacy, they are also looking ahead. Caressant Care continues to grow, innovate, and advocate for better seniors care across Ontario and are focused on fostering tight-knit communities where everyone knows and looks out for one another.
