A new large-scale fundraising event is set to debut in Oxford County, offering a night of elegance, entertainment, and community support.
The Great Give’s “Casino Royale” gala will take place May 23rd at the Woodstock Fairgrounds’ Oxford Auditorium, with proceeds going to United Way Oxford. The event is being organized by co-chairs and co-founders Cassandra Bernard and Melissa McLean, who created the initiative to fill a gap in large-scale local fundraising.
Organizers are aiming to welcome between 450 and 500 attendees in the first year. Bernard tells us what guests can expect.
The event is entirely volunteer-run, with strong support from local businesses and community members. The co-founders said they saw a niche that the United Way was not filling and wanted to help without adding extra pressure to their resources.
Both organizers are well skilled to take this event on, but Bernard explains there have been some challenges.
She added that word of mouth has really helped them grow. Mclean says the formal theme of Casino Royale is also a key draw.
Tickets are currently $135, increasing to $150 this Wednesday, and are available online or through the organizers.
