A new gala event is bringing formal flair back to Oxford County this spring while raising money for local causes.
Women United is launching The Great Give, a Casino Royale–themed fundraising gala in support of United Way Oxford. The event takes place Saturday, May 23, and will feature dinner, dancing, casino-style gaming tables, specialty cocktails, music, and prizes.
Co-chair Melissa MacLean told us how The Great Give Gala came about.
MacLean said past galas in the county were always well attended, and organizers wanted to bring the concept back with a fresh twist.
This year the gala will support the United Way Oxford, which MacLean thinks is a great way to reach more in need.
She added the timing was chosen carefully, getting past the holiday season and letting the weather warm up a little.
Early bird tickets are $125 until January 31 and are available through Eventbrite. Sponsorship opportunities and full tables are also available for businesses and community groups looking to support the event.
