Annual steak BBQ helps local families and community causes
The Tillsonburg Firefighters Association is getting ready for an annual tradition that's about more than just a good steak.
The association's steak BBQ is coming up September 12th at the Lions Auditorium, and member Tony Hietkamp says the event continues to get plenty of support from the community — including donations for the door prizes and silent auction.
And that community support helps the firefighters give back themselves. Proceeds from the BBQ help fund their Christmas hamper program, which provides a special Christmas for several local families, along with support for Muscular Dystrophy and the local food bank.
It's a cook-your-own-steak event, running from 4 to 8 p.m.
