The Tillsonburg Lions Club donated $1,500 to the Station Arts Centre to sponsor a week of summer camp programming for local children. Both organizations say the donation highlights the importance of community support and local programming for youth and artists.
Another example of local fundraising going right back into the community. Last week the Tillsonburg Lions Club donated $1500 to the Station Arts Centre to take care of a weekly camp sponsorship for the kids summer caps.
David Pipher, President of the Tillsonburg Lions Club says it's simply what they do.
Executive Director and Curator at the Tillsonburg Station Arts Centre Tabitha Verbuyst says they were really appreciative of the gesture.
Pipher added the Lions Club prides itself on doing what they can, and that comes with in person gestures and events not just cheque presentations.
Verbuyst says the donation will go to a worthy element of their programming.
The Stations Arts Centre is a non-profit organization that is membership based and they host all local work from local artists, creators and makers plus two different gallery spaces with changing exhibits, baggage room gift shop, tourism information, youth and adult programs, and host many events plus a fully functioning pottery studio.
