Chamber award recognizes a workplace built around its people
Last, but certainly not least, Mazza Heating and Air Conditioning is the final Tillsonburg Chamber of Commerce Awards of Excellence winner we're featuring. Mazza received the Employer of the Year Award, sponsored by FirstOntario Credit Union.
It's an employee-nominated award, recognizing workplaces that support their people through things like training, recognition, wellness and professional development.
Kevin Toews is the owner of Mazza Heating and Air Conditioning.
Toews says receiving the award was exciting — and humbling.
He says the recognition could help people in the community see Mazza as a great place to work, while helping with employee recruitment and retention.
Mazza has been serving Tillsonburg and the surrounding communities since 1986. What started as a two-person operation has grown to 18 employees and a fleet of ten service vehicles.
And on Mazza's website, Toews says being local and family-owned means supporting employees and customers with integrity, honesty and respect — and building long-term relationships through trust and transparency.
