The first babies of 2026 have arrived in the London region, bringing early joy to two local families. London Health Sciences Centre announced that Bryson Carlsen was born at 1:28 a.m. on New Year’s Day, weighing 7 pounds, 1 ounce. He is welcomed by parents Brooklyn Lemieux and Michael Carlsen.
At St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, a New Year’s Day arrival came just in time. A baby boy, Lincoln Thomas, was born at 11:57 p.m., only three minutes before the day ended. Parents Isla and Tanner Loucks of London welcomed their son, who weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces.
The couple arrived at the hospital around 8 p.m. Dad Tanner said Isla had her heart set on a New Year’s Day baby, making the late-night arrival extra special.
Both hospitals extended their congratulations to the families, wishing them happiness and good health as they begin 2026 with a memorable and joyful new chapter.
