Residents can check out artwork from local artists in the new exhibit, named "Shell of a Place" starting June 19th at the Station Arts Centre in Tillsonburg.

The Station Arts Centre in Tillsonburg is launching a new turtle-themed exhibit, as part of the first day of the 13th annual TurtleFest.

Social Media Lead Cailey Coderre has the details on "Shell of a Place."

The new exhibit replaces "Slow and Steady", which was held in 2025.

The mission statement behind it is simple.

"This exhibition encourages artists to interpret the connection between turtles and the places that shape us - whether through landscape, personal history, migration, protection, nostalgia, or change. Submissions may be literal or conceptual, traditional or experimental."

There a fun contest going on as well, where locals and visitors can have their say on the art they see.

$250 will be awarded to the artist, selected as the People's Choice Award recipient.

The limited time exhibit starts on Friday, June 19th and runs until July 24th, 2026.
