Shriner Cedric Tomico says the fish fry has quickly become a favourite fundraiser.
The Tillsonburg Shrine Club is inviting the community to come hungry and support a good cause at its third annual Fish Fry and Elimination Draw, happening Friday, January 16.
The event takes place at the Lions Auditorium on Hardy Avenue, with doors opening at 5 p.m. Dinner is first come, first served, and tickets will be available at the door.
Shriner Cedric Tomico says the fish fry has quickly become a favourite fundraiser.
The menu includes all-you-can-eat pickerel and crispy fries. Tomico highlights a few other specialties.
Dinner tickets are $30 per person, with food served until 9 p.m.
Along with the meal, an elimination draw offers a one-in-400 chance to win $20,000. “We just wanted to find a way to be able to donate more to Shriners Hospitals,” Tomico explained.
All proceeds support Shriners Hospitals for Children, including a newer clinic at London Health Sciences Centre.
“It’s close to home and we’re really pleased to be a part of it,” Tomico said. Last year alone, the Tillsonburg Shrine Club donated $60,000 through community fundraisers like the fish fry and its annual barbecue, helping support children and families closer to home.
