Honouring businesses and organizations that help visitors “Embrace Our Rural Routes.”
Oxford County celebrated its growing tourism industry this week, recognizing local innovators and collaborators at the fourth annual Oxford Tourism Awards of Excellence. The event took place Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Innerkip Highlands Golf Club, honouring businesses and organizations that help visitors “Embrace Our Rural Routes.”
Udderly Ridiculous Farm Life took home the Tourism Partnership Award for its creative “cow wedding” between miniature Highland cows Muriel and Rhett. The whimsical event captured international attention, earning coverage from CNN and influencers worldwide. The farm also shared Special Event of the Year (second recipient) for its eco-friendly, animal-centered celebration.
The Special Event of the Year (first recipient) went to the Ingersoll Cheese and Agricultural Museum for its Mystic Market — a paranormal-themed experience that drew crowds eager to explore spirituality, enjoy local food, and shop from Oxford artists and vendors.
Transitions Equine Assisted Learning earned Best New Tourism Product for its “Cowgirl Kickback” — a wellness-focused retreat offering mindful horse interactions and fireside relaxation.
“Oxford’s tourism industry is thriving, with amazing experiences available throughout the County,” said Meredith Maywood, Tourism Specialist with Oxford County. “The judges faced a tough decision with so many outstanding nominations from a growing number of tourism businesses that help us to Embrace Our Rural Routes and keep guests returning to Oxford County.”
Winners were selected by a panel of judges from tourism organizations outside Oxford County. The annual awards continue to spotlight creativity, collaboration, and sustainability across Oxford’s thriving tourism landscape.
