Residents can hear from candidates and submit questions ahead of the September 29th forum
With Tillsonburg’s municipal election coming up October 26th, local voters will soon have an opportunity to hear directly from the people hoping to lead the community — and they can help decide what those candidates are asked.
The Tillsonburg District Chamber of Commerce is hosting an All Candidates Forum Tuesday, September 29th, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Lions Auditorium at the Tillsonburg Community Centre.
Chamber President Lindsay Tribble says the evening is designed to help residents get a better understanding of the candidates, their priorities and how they would approach issues facing the community:
The forum will include both mayoral candidates and the 10 candidates running for council.
And residents aren't just there to listen.
The Chamber is inviting people to submit questions in advance through its website, Facebook or Instagram. Tribble says those questions will help shape what the moderator asks the candidates during the forum:
Questions need to be submitted by September 16th.
It's part of the Chamber's effort to encourage local civic engagement and give residents a chance to hear where the community's future leadership stands on the issues that matter to them.
