The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s returns on May 30th, 2026 in Oxford County, with events in Tillsonburg and Woodstock to raise funds for the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners and its local dementia support programs.
The Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners is once again inviting the community to come together in support of local families affected by dementia during the 2026 IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s.
The annual fundraiser returns to Oxford County on Saturday, May 30th, aimed at celebrating those living with dementia while supporting the programs and services offered locally through the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners.
Leslie Rand, Director of Development with the organization, says the day is designed to bring the community together in a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere.
The Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners provides programs and services for individuals living with dementia, along with support for families and care partners. Those services include counselling, education, support groups, therapeutic recreation programs, and wellness initiatives designed to help people remain active and connected within the community.
Rand says events like the walk are not only important fundraisers, but also an opportunity for people navigating dementia to connect with others experiencing similar journeys.
Walks are taking place in both Tillsonburg and Woodstock, with participants able to register individually or as part of a team. Residents who are unable to attend in person are still encouraged to donate online or support a participating walker.
This year, organizers have set a regional fundraising goal of approximately $300,000 across walks in Elgin, Middlesex, and Oxford counties. Funds raised remain local and help support free programs and services within the community.
Rand notes the need for those services continues to grow, with dementia rates expected to rise significantly in the coming decades.
