Historic aircraft, classic cars, food trucks, and family fun.
The Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association is inviting the community to spend Saturday surrounded by some pretty impressive pieces of Canadian aviation history — and a whole lot of classic cars — at its annual Wings and Wheels Family Fun Day at the Tillsonburg Regional Airport. The all-volunteer CHAA is dedicated to restoring and flying historic Harvard aircraft — the famous “yellow birds” of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan and the RCAF. The association operates nine aircraft, including five airworthy Harvards and a Yale, and regularly takes its aircraft to flyovers at Remembrance Day ceremonies and other local events.
Terry Scott, Public Relations Chair, says CHAA really looks forward to this event:
Saturday's event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with aircraft displays and tours, food trucks, the KidZone, garage and book sales, and live flight demonstrations. And then, there's the other half of the equation — a massive classic car show featuring vehicles from the Tillsonburg Cruisers, the Bygone Iron Car Club and independent owners.
Scott says that - for one classic car owner - there will be a very special prize:
Admission is by cash donation, with proceeds supporting CHAA's work to preserve aviation history and keep those iconic yellow aircraft flying. You can also book a flight experience in advance at harvards.com or arrange one on site, weather permitting.

The airport is accessible from Ostrander Road and Cranberry Line, but there is no access from Highway 19.
If the weather doesn't cooperate, CHAA says an update will be posted Friday afternoon on its website and social media.
