Bonnie Tyler, the Grammy-nominated Welsh singer whose voice powered the 1983 hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart," has died at the age of 75. The song has enjoyed renewed popularity with each major solar eclipse over the years.

Back in 2024, ahead of the total solar eclipse, we spoke with Port Dover's Rory Dodd, who shared vocals with Tyler on the iconic hit.

 "Turn around."

Those two words became instantly recognizable thanks to *Total Eclipse of the Heart*. While Bonnie Tyler's powerful vocals made the song a worldwide hit, it was actually a duet. The male voice belonged to Port Dover's Rory Dodd.

Dodd had just wrapped up a tour with Meat Loaf when producer Jim Steinman called with an opportunity that would become one of the biggest songs of the 1980s.

Dodd said recording it, he knew it would be big.

And he was right.

Tyler's team posted on socials saying she passed in a hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for.
