Charges laid following incident at Aylmer group home

An 18-year-old Aylmer woman is charged after a dispute at a group home allegedly escalated into an assault and threats against staff. She was released on an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date.

An Aylmer resident is facing charges following an incident at a local group home.

According to the Aylmer Police Service, officers were called to a residence on March 23 for a report of an assault involving a resident and staff members.

Police say a dispute broke out between an 18-year-old female and staff over television use. During the altercation, a staff member was struck with an object, and threats were allegedly made toward another employee.

Following an investigation, the 18-year-old Aylmer woman has been charged with assault and uttering threats to cause death.

She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
