Fireworks reminder heading into Holiday Weekend

Residents in the Town of Tillsonburg are being reminded about the rules for fireworks use, as local officials stress the importance of safety and responsible celebrations. 

Under the bylaw, fireworks are allowed only to be sold and discharged in conjunction with Fireworks are allowed only to be sold and discharged in conjunction with Victoria Day, Canada, Day, Labour Day and New Year’s Eve celebrations. You can discharge fireworks on the actual holiday, or two days before or after these dates. Fireworks cannot be discharged on Town-owned property including streets, sidewalks, parks and fields, from the roof of any building, inside buildings, structures or vehicles.

Officials also note that anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed to ignite fireworks of any kind.

For larger or organized displays, a permit is required.
