Legend Fleet Solutions Investing $3.3 Million in Tillsonburg, Adding 14 Jobs

The company will also be able to launch new products, including flooring for electric vehicles.

Tillsonburg manufacturer Legend Fleet Solutions is investing more than $3.3 million in its local operation, with support from the Ontario government expected to help the company expand production and create 14 new jobs.

The company is investing $3,334,241 in new technology and equipment that will increase productivity, expand its manufacturing capabilities and allow it to diversify its product offerings.

The Ontario government is contributing $500,000 toward the project through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, part of the province's Regional Development Program.

According to the province, the investment will allow Legend Fleet Solutions to automate some of its more labour-intensive manual processes, significantly increasing production capacity.

The company will also be able to launch new products, including flooring for electric vehicles that the province describes as first-in-industry.

The expansion is expected to create 14 new jobs in Tillsonburg.

Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman said investments such as the one at Legend Fleet Solutions help support growth and innovation in the region's manufacturing sector.

Ontario says its Regional Development Program has provided more than $250 million in support for manufacturers and other businesses across the province. The province says the program has supported more than 215 projects, leveraging more than $2.8 billion in new investment and helping create more than 5,900 jobs.

For Legend Fleet Solutions, the Tillsonburg investment represents an expansion of its manufacturing capabilities at a time when new technologies — including electric vehicles — are creating opportunities for suppliers to develop new products.
