Tillsonburg’s share is about $315,000, while the authority’s overall spending would rise nearly five per cent.

The Long Point Region Conservation Authority is proposing a budget of nearly $7.95 million for 2027, an increase of almost five per cent over this year.

The draft budget includes about $6.42 million in operating expenses and $1.52 million in capital spending.

Tillsonburg’s proposed contribution is approximately $314,649, including $311,488 for operating costs and $3,161 for capital expenses.

Across the authority, the regular municipal levy would decrease by $55,615, or 2.32 per cent. Operating costs are rising, but the amount municipalities are being asked to contribute toward capital expenses would drop sharply.

The budget also includes a separate $640,000 special levy for Norfolk County. With that levy included, the total municipal levy across the authority’s funding plan would increase by 12.22 per cent. That special levy is separate from Tillsonburg’s proposed contribution.

The 2027 budget remains a draft. Municipalities have until 4:30 p.m. on October 29 to submit comments, with the authority’s final budget vote scheduled for November 4.
