Starting April 27th, crews will apply a protective coating to the Oxford Road 59 bridge in Woodstock, keeping traffic and the east sidewalk open while the west sidewalk is closed. Work is expected to finish by November 2026.
Work is set to begin next week on the underside of the Oxford Road 59 (Vansittart Avenue) bridge in the city of Woodstock, as crews apply a protective girder coating to help prevent corrosion of the bridge’s structural steel.
Beginning Monday, April 27th, both lanes of traffic will remain open, along with the east sidewalk. The west sidewalk will be closed while work is underway. The project is expected to be completed by November 2026.
The current phase follows earlier rehabilitation work on the bridge carried out between February 2024 and April 2025, which included structural repairs and asphalt and concrete restoration.
