Motorcyclist killed in collision on Simcoe Street in Tillsonburg

A 38-year-old Oxford County resident has died following a motorcycle collision in Tillsonburg Monday evening.

Oxford OPP, along with fire and paramedic services, responded to the crash on Simcoe Street between Westtown Line and Goshen Street at approximately 5:06 p.m. on August 3. The collision involved a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Police say the motorcycle struck the rear of the SUV, ejecting the rider. The motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The collision closed Simcoe Street between Westtown Line and Goshen Street as investigators examined the scene.

Members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team are assisting with the investigation. Police are asking anyone who was travelling on Simcoe Street at the time of the collision, witnessed the crash, or has dash camera or surveillance footage showing the motorcycle or SUV before the collision to contact the Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
