Four people are facing charges following a series of intimate partner violence investigations conducted by Norfolk County OPP over the weekend.
Police say the first investigation began after a report of an assault that allegedly occurred earlier this month at a Norfolk County residence. Officers determined one individual allegedly assaulted and threatened another person, stole property and injured animals belonging to the victim. A 55-year-old Norfolk County resident has been charged with assault, uttering threats, theft, animal cruelty-related offences and failing to comply with a probation order.
Later the same day, officers responded to a separate assault complaint. Investigators allege one person assaulted another, causing minor injuries, and uncovered evidence of an earlier alleged assault involving the same individuals dating back to July 2025. A 44-year-old Norfolk County resident has been charged with two counts of spousal assault.
In another incident early Saturday morning, police responded to an assault report at a Norfolk County address. Officers allege one person assaulted another during an interaction between the parties. No injuries were reported. A 27-year-old London resident was charged with spousal assault and failure to comply with an undertaking and remains in custody pending a court appearance.
Later Saturday afternoon, officers investigated another reported assault involving intimate partners. No injuries were reported. A 35-year-old Norfolk County resident was charged with spousal assault.
All accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
