The development includes 37 one and two-bedroom units. A ribbon cutting is set for April 20th in Woodstock.

Officials in Oxford County are set to mark the opening of a new affordable housing development in Woodstock later this month.

A ribbon cutting and guided tour will take place Monday, April 20th at 1 p.m. at 785 Southwood Way, celebrating the completion of a 52-unit residential apartment building developed by the Woodstock Non-Profit Housing Corporation.

The project includes 37 affordable one- and two-bedroom units aimed at supporting seniors, single women and women with children.

Oxford County officials say the municipality contributed to the project through the provision of shovel-ready land, a $1.4-million capital investment and development charge exemptions, aligned with its Master Housing Strategy.

Additional funding of $1.92 million from federal and provincial governments supports 19 of the affordable units.

Several local and provincial officials are expected to attend, including Oxford County Warden Marcus Ryan, Parliamentary Assistant Matthew Rae, and Woodstock Mayor Jerry Acchione.

Organizers say the development is part of ongoing efforts to increase access to affordable housing across the region.
