Oxford County reports strong drinking‑water results amid rising demand

The report also shines a light on how the County has to deal with the increasing demand for drinking water.

The latest water systems annual report presented to Oxford County council was more than upbeat.

Warden Marcus Ryan says the quality numbers for the 17 drinking water systems and more than 11 million cubic metres of potable water provided in the county last year were tremendous.

Ryan says the report also shines a light on how the County has to deal with the increasing demand for drinking water.

When you look at a municipal budget, Ryan says managing clean water resources is a big ticket item.

Bottom line says Ryan - dealing with unprecedented population growth is a challenge that keeps Oxford County on its toes when it comes to ensuring a clean water supply.
