Oxford County will recognize local environmental efforts later this month as the 2025 Oxford Stewardship Award is presented at County Council.

Warden Marcus Ryan will present the award on April 22nd at approximately 9:30 a.m. inside council chambers at the Oxford County Administration Building in Woodstock. The award celebrates landowners who have taken strong steps to protect and improve natural areas such as wetlands, woodlands, streams, and meadows on their properties.

This year’s nominees include Jim and Minnie Koteles, R.M. Matheson Farms, and the Middle Grand Chapter of Freshwater Canada. The final recipient will be announced during the meeting.

The award is tied to the County’s Clean Water Program, which supports conservation projects through funding and technical help. In 2025, 42 projects were completed across Oxford County, with a total value of more than $348,000.

The recipient will also receive a $500 gift certificate for a local art piece or tourism experience.
