Oxford County is proposing a 15-kilometre multi-use trail connecting Norwich and Tillsonburg along a former railway corridor, linking to the Trans Canada Trail. A public meeting will be held on May 7th at the Norwich Community Centre for residents to learn more and provide feedback.
Oxford County is inviting residents to learn more about a proposed multi-use recreational trail that would connect Norwich and Tillsonburg along a former railway corridor.
The project, being developed in partnership with the Oxford County Trails Council, would create approximately 15 kilometres of off-road trail designed for walking, cycling, and more. The route is intended to provide a safer active transportation option between the two communities while enhancing connections to existing local trails and broader regional networks.
County officials say the trail would also link into the Trans Canada Trail, offering expanded recreational opportunities and improved regional connectivity.
The County will host a Public Information Centre on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Norwich Community Centre. The session will run from 7 to 9 p.m., with a formal presentation scheduled for 7:30 p.m., followed by a Q&A.
Residents attending the meeting will have the opportunity to review proposed plans and provide input on the project.
Oxford County noted that property owners adjacent to the proposed trail corridor will be contacted directly. Any concerns related to individual properties will be addressed through those one-on-one discussions rather than during the public session.
