Oxford County residents are encouraged to nominate outstanding individuals for the Order of Ontario, recognizing significant contributions across various fields. Nominations, requiring detailed submissions and supporting testimonials, are due by March 31st through the Ontario Honours and Awards Portal.

Residents in Oxford County are being encouraged to recognize outstanding members of their community through nominations for the Order of Ontario, the province’s highest civilian honour.

Oxford County MPP Ernie Hardeman has taken to social media urging residents to consider nominating individuals who have made lasting contributions in their field. The honour recognizes Ontarians whose achievements have had a significant impact locally, provincially, nationally, or even globally.

Nominations are open to individuals across a wide range of fields, including healthcare, education, business, arts, environmental conservation, and community service. To be eligible, nominees must be living and have demonstrated a high level of excellence and influence through their work, though they do not need to be Canadian citizens.

The nomination process requires a detailed submission outlining the nominee’s achievements, along with at least two supporting testimonial letters. Submissions must be completed through the Ontario Honours and Awards Portal before the March 31st deadline.

Final selections are reviewed by an independent advisory council and approved by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, who also presents recipients with the official insignia during an investiture ceremony.
