Oxford Road 29 will be fully closed for up to three weeks at the start of bridge construction, with all traffic detoured. It will then reopen to one-way eastbound traffic only, while westbound vehicles use a designated detour route for the remainder of the project.

A bridge rehabilitation project in East Zorra-Tavistock will result in traffic disruptions along Oxford Road 29 in Innerkip beginning in early May.

Officials say the road, between 18th Line Road and Elisabeth Street, will be fully closed to traffic for up to three weeks at the start of construction, as vehicles will be unable to cross the bridge. During that time, motorists will be required to follow a posted detour route.

After the initial closure, the road will reopen with a single lane of traffic limited to eastbound vehicles only. Westbound traffic will continue to be detoured using Blandford Road, Oxford Road 8, 16th Line and Oxford Road 33.

The project is expected to continue through November 2026.
