Two people have been arrested following a reported break and enter at a property on Base Line in Norwich Township.
Oxford OPP were called to the property shortly after 10:40 p.m. Sunday, September 13, after a residential CCTV system alerted police to a break and enter in progress.
Officers, along with members of the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, located two people allegedly attempting to steal machinery and tools from a barn. Police say the pair had arrived in a black pickup truck towing a black trailer.
A 45-year-old Bayham resident faces charges including break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, possession of break-in tools, obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with a probation order.
A 50-year-old Norfolk County resident faces charges of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, possession of break-in tools and obstructing a peace officer.
Both individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on December 8.
