UPDATE: Five dead after Norwich Township crash, OPP confirm no charges

An update to the two-vehicle collision involving an SUV and a transport truck on March 31 at the intersection of Highway 59 and Quaker Street.

An update from the Ontario Provincial Police confirms a tragic crash in Norwich Township has now claimed five lives.

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision involving an SUV and a transport truck on March 31 around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 59 and Quaker Street.

The driver of the SUV, a 39-year-old from Cambridge, along with two passengers—a 13-year-old and a 17-year-old from Tillsonburg—were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two additional passengers, a 46-year-old and a 21-year-old from Tillsonburg, were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police now confirm both have died.

In a final update, Oxford OPP say the investigation has concluded. No charges will be laid, and no further information will be released.

Police have not shared additional details about what led to the collision.
