Residents of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and surrounding communities have an opportunity to help shape the future of their local hospitals.
Rural Roads Health Services, which operates Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll and Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, is developing a new strategic plan and wants to hear directly from the people who rely on its services. A community consultation is scheduled for Monday, November 2, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mount Elgin Community Hall. Residents can also share their thoughts through an online survey, which remains open until November 4. (A link to the survey is below.)
Nadia Facca, President and CEO of Rural Roads Health Services, explains how the strategic plan will guide decisions at both hospitals.
The organization is inviting patients, families, caregivers and other community members to share their experiences and suggestions.
The consultations are an opportunity to look at existing priorities while considering new possibilities for local health care.
Facca says the discussions will encourage people to think creatively about what their hospitals could become.
Residents who cannot attend the meeting can still contribute through the online community survey, which remains open until November 4.
And those who wonder whether one person's opinion can make a difference may be interested in what the Rural Roads President and CEO has to say about how the feedback will be handled.
Because seating at the November 2 meeting is limited, attendees are asked to register in advance by emailing info@rrhs.ca.
Residents can also complete the Rural Roads Health Services Community Survey before the November 4 deadline.
Whether it's an experience with hospital care, an idea for improving services or a suggestion for the years ahead, Rural Roads Health Services is giving residents a chance to have their say.
