Oxford County Council will receive an update on Woodingford Lodge during its meeting today, with the long-term care home reporting strong governance, compliance and operational performance at its Woodstock, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg locations.
The quarterly report from Woodingford’s Committee of Management says resident acuity continues to increase, meaning residents require higher and more complex levels of care. Recruitment efforts are also continuing for registered nurse practitioners, a position facing high competition across the healthcare sector.
Occupancy at Woodingford remained at approximately 99 per cent during the past quarter, while the waitlist for long-term care placement has grown to just over 1,000 people.
The report also highlights a major provincial investment. Woodingford Lodge has been selected as one of three Ontario long-term care homes to receive funding through the provincial Community Access to Long-Term Care program.
Woodingford will receive $1.07 million to expand its Adult Day Program to seven days a week. The funding will increase access to physiotherapy, personal care and bathing, foot and hair care, health and wellness education, and caregiver supports.
The expanded services are intended to support seniors in the community who are waiting for long-term care placement, while improving resident outcomes, safety and overall experience.
