Woodstock lowers flags to mark 25th anniversary of 9/11

City of Woodstock remembers those who were lost, carries their legacy forward, and stands together as a community.

The City of Woodstock is lowering its flags today, as the community marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States.

At the request of Mayor Acchione, the city’s flags have been lowered as Woodstock pauses to remember the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives on 9/11, as well as the first responders whose courage helped save others.

The city is also remembering the families and communities that continue to carry the impact of that day.

In a statement, Woodstock says the anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the strength, compassion and unity that emerged in the days and years that followed the attacks.
