A Woodstock man has been charged with second-degree murder after police found an adult male deceased during a welfare check on Dundas Street on March 12th, 2026. Investigators later deemed the death suspicious and arrested 20-year-old Romario Henry, who remains in custody.
A 20-year-old Woodstock man has been charged with second-degree murder following a suspicious death that occurred during a welfare check earlier this year.
On March 12th, 2026, officers with the Woodstock Police Service responded to a residence on Dundas Street in Woodstock after receiving a request to check on the wellbeing of an occupant. When police arrived, they located an adult male deceased inside the home.
The death was later deemed suspicious following consultation with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario, prompting an investigation by the Woodstock Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch, with assistance from multiple units and partner agencies.
Investigators say the inquiry led to the identification of a suspect and also included review of a second related incident involving the same individual. Police noted that no physical injuries were reported in connection with the second incident.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested Romario Henry, 20, of Woodstock and charged him with second-degree murder. He remains in custody.
Police confirmed the accused and the victim were known to one another.
The Woodstock Police Service thanked members of the public for their assistance, including the submission of video footage and other information that supported the investigation.
Due to ongoing court proceedings and out of respect for the victim’s family, police say no further details will be released at this time.
