Oxford County Warden Marcus Ryan looking for a way to manage heavy vehicle traffic
The increasing volume of truck and heavy vehicle traffic in western Ontario is not exclusive to major highways.
Oxford County Warden Marcus Ryan says council has been asked to consider changes in a community safety zone on Oxford Road 28 in Zorra Township.
The zoning change application includes extending the stretch of road where there's a reduced speed limit of 60 kph to just west of 31st Line to 33rd Line. Warden Ryan says it's an attempt to be proactive when a potential safety issue has been identified:
Ryan says having an extended reduced speed limit zone and turn lane, seems to be the right way to manage heavy vehicle traffic as it approaches the community of Harrington.
