The updated plan identifies six priority areas.
Woodstock council has approved an updated Safe and Well Oxford Community Safety and Well-Being plan, a legislated requirement for Ontario municipalities that provide police services.
The plan must be reviewed and updated every four years and aims to improve community safety and well-being through coordinated action.
Originally endorsed by all eight Oxford County municipalities in 2021, the plan is led by Oxford County, which began reviewing and updating it in 2025. The process included data analysis and consultation with community members, partners, and stakeholders.
The updated plan identifies six priority areas: mental health and well-being, housing for all, people and belonging, substance use and addictions, gender-based violence, and affordability and economic stability.
Key updates also include the addition of a full-time Community Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator, new foundational values to guide implementation, and changes to the governance model.
