Green bin organics collection will expand to other Oxford County municipalities in May 2027.
Residents in South-West Oxford and Woodstock will begin receiving green bins for organic waste collection starting in October, ahead of the program’s official launch in January 2026.
Households on curbside garbage routes in detached or semi-detached homes will receive a 45-litre green bin for curbside use and a 7-litre container for collecting kitchen scraps. Townhouse residents and those in small apartment buildings with fewer than six units will receive a kitchen container for disposal in a shared bin.
Larger apartment buildings with six or more units won’t be added to the organics program until 2026. Residents living above businesses are also eligible for green bins but must arrange pickup through Oxford County by calling 1-800-755-0394, ext. 3159.
