Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Brady sets legislative and local advocacy goals for the year ahead

Brady is looking forward to many things in 2026.

Haldimand–Norfolk MPP Bobbi Ann Brady is reflecting on what she describes as one of the most challenging years of her political career, while setting her sights on legislative priorities and local advocacy heading into 2026.

Brady says 2025 was defined by a snap winter election that forced campaigns into “fast mode” during some of the harshest conditions of the year.

While the compressed timeline added pressure, she says the outcome provided clarity and allowed Queen’s Park to move forward without prolonged uncertainty.

The independent MPP was re-elected with a decisive victory in February, a result she says reaffirmed local support for an independent voice at the legislature.

Brady talked to us as well about she is looking forward to this year.

Beyond legislation, Brady says she will continue advocating for expanded prostate cancer testing and increased funding for families supporting loved ones with developmental disabilities — a sector she says has been underfunded for years.

The MPP is also preparing for a busy early 2026 schedule and is interested in the municipal elections later this year, saying it presents an opportunity for renewed accountability at the local level.

Brady closed the interview by thanking constituents for their continued support, saying she remains committed to representing Haldimand–Norfolk “with the loudest, strongest voice” possible as she enters the new year.
