Daytime highs are expected to reach 30-35°C.

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Oxford County, with a multi-day heatwave starting today. Daytime highs are expected to reach 30-35°C, with humidex values of 35-40. Overnight lows will remain warm, between 19-22°C.

Slightly cooler temperatures are expected by mid-next week. Residents are urged to take precautions, as extreme heat can cause serious health risks, especially for older adults, young children, and those with pre-existing health conditions.

Signs of heat exhaustion include headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst, and fatigue. Heat stroke is a medical emergency - call 911 immediately if symptoms such as confusion, red skin, or loss of consciousness occur.

Stay cool by drinking water regularly, avoiding strenuous activity during peak heat, wearing light clothing, and seeking air-conditioned or shaded spaces. Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.
