Human remains found in South-West Oxford Township

The Ontario Provincial Police Oxford Detachment is investigating after human remains were discovered in South-West Oxford Township.

On Monday around 2:45 p.m., officers were called to a property on Beachville Road following a report of possible human remains. Investigators have since confirmed the discovery.

At this time, police say there is no indication of a risk to public safety. An increased police presence will remain in the area as the investigation continues.

The case is being led by the Oxford OPP Crime Unit with oversight from the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. OPP Forensic Identification Services are also assisting.

As the investigation is still in its early stages, additional details will be released as they become available.
