Provincial leaders were approached by officials from Ingersoll to discuss support for local projects
Town of Ingersoll leaders met with provincial officials this week at the 2026 Rural Ontario Municipal Association Conference to discuss the community’s future and seek support for local projects.
Meetings included the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, where leaders discussed the GM CAMI Assembly plant and requested assistance for roads and utilities to support job growth and housing. The Minister of Sport was asked for funding for a new Multi-Use Recreation Centre, while conversations with the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Finance focused on local tax challenges and provincial grants.
“Thank you to the provincial officials who met with the Town of Ingersoll at ROMA. These discussions help us match our local goals with provincial plans,” said Mayor Brian Petrie.
