Canada enters the Games as the defending Olympic champions, with the tournament set to kick off on February 5th.
Two area hockey standouts will be wearing the Maple Leaf on sports’ biggest stage next month.
Hockey Canada has announced its 23-player roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, and the list includes Ella Shelton of Ingersoll and Julia Gosling of London.
Shelton, a defenceman, returns to the Olympic stage after helping Canada capture gold at the 2022 Beijing Games. She is among 16 players from that championship roster looking to defend Canada’s title in Italy.
Gosling, meanwhile, will be making her Olympic debut in Milan.
Canada enters the Games as the defending Olympic champions, led by longtime captain Marie-Philip Poulin, who will compete in her fifth Olympics.
The women’s hockey tournament begins February 5th, with the gold-medal game set for February 19th.
Canada will compete in Group A, alongside the United States, Finland, Czechia, and Switzerland.
