Large Item Collection begins in Oxford County on March 30th. Oversized items like furniture, mattresses, and box springs can be disposed of, provided they meet size and weight limits.
Residents across Oxford will soon be able to clear out oversized household items as the county's annual Large Item Collection gets underway.
The curbside program begins March 30th in Ingersoll and will roll through several communities on scheduled weeks through early July. Collection will also take place in Zorra, East Zorra-Tavistock, Norwich, Blandford-Blenheim, South-West Oxford and Tillsonburg. Meanwhile, residents in Woodstock will follow a separate program coordinated by the city.
The collection is intended for oversized household items only and is not meant for general spring cleanup. Acceptable items include furniture, mattresses, box springs, bundled carpet, and certain pool and water equipment, provided they meet size and weight limits.
Items must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on the designated Monday of each collection week. Officials note that late set-outs may not be picked up, and residents are responsible for removing any unacceptable materials left behind.
Residents are also encouraged to consider donating or repurposing items before disposal, noting that many materials can be reused within the community.
