A continuing investigation into a fatal London crash has resulted in charges for a 58-year-old man
A 58-year-old London man is facing charges after a serious collision in August led to the death of a motorcyclist.
London police say members of the Road Safety Section have charged Abdel Hamid Habliza with careless driving causing death and failing to render assistance. He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 5th.
Police previously reported that the motorcyclist, 49-year-old Steven Douglas Smith of London, died in hospital on September 16th, from injuries sustained in the August 15th crash on Brydges Street, east of Egerton Street.
Investigators are still seeking witnesses and anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage from the area between 1:40 and 2 p.m. on the day of the collision.
