Hate Crime Unit taking over investigation into incident in London
A 35-year-old London man is facing charges after police say a break and enter and assault were motivated by hate over the weekend.
Police say two men were subjected to racially motivated comments early Sunday in the area of Capulet Lane and Wonderland Road North. A suspect later forced his way into one of the men’s residences, assaulted him and attempted to return a second time.
The victim sustained minor injuries. Jonathan William Butcher has been charged with break, enter and commit assault.
Police say the Hate Crime Unit has taken over the investigation. Butcher is scheduled to appear in court October 6th.
